I'm giving this place 4 stars for two things, the stone crabs and the ribeye. Went there a few nights in row to take customers to and tried a few dishes. The simple things they are known for are very good. The rest is so-so IMHO. It is family style and a bit noisy so best for customers that you know well if it's for business. Otherwise it's great for friends and hanging out. They do have a pretty solid wine list. Make a res as it can be difficult to get into last minute.

Sister restaurant to the famous Joe's Stone Crab in Miami, this is an institution in Chicago. The decor is classic steakhouse with white linens, handsome dark wood and plush leather booths.

There's a filet mignon and a stone crab lunch special that includes soup, potatoes, cole slaw and key lime pie. The meaty stone crab claws are served cold and are pre-cracked for your convenience.

Great spot for power lunches and business meetings.

A Chicago staple. Stone Crab claws and scallops are a must. But to my surprise, the Dry Aged Ribeye steak is top notch. It is fantastic. Reservations are recommended, but sometimes you can wait and get a seat in the bar area, which can get crowded, but you get to enjoy the awesome food without a reservation!

Being a girl who lived on the beach in Miami, I will always prefer Joe's down there, but it is a great place to get a bite during the holidays - cozy and the food is always good. Like most places in Chicago, get reservations instead of just dropping in. The key lime pie is my ultimate favorite dish here!
Easy to get to: valet available, parking is extremely expensive in this area. Most bus stops off Michigan Ave stop within a couple blocks from the restaurant. Or you can opt for the Grand redline stop.

Their whole menu is exquisite off the wall so good, it will explode your taste buds and your wallet. This is ultimate AMERICAN dining at a price. Fresh stone crab is also unreal. I was here for a company dinner, and this place was excellent. I had the king crab legs with scallop. Awesome. I also tried food from my coworker's plates and it was very good. The service outstanding and the ambience is real cool. I will come again if in the area!

The restaurant was good, but it was on the pricey side. I didn't leave there terribly impressed. As a matter of fact, I don't even remember what I ate.

You just have to have the creamed spinach! (Best steak in the house is the bone-in ribeye)

Description

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is the culmination of a partnership between Lettuce Entertain You, ICON and Joe's Stone Crab, the legendary seafood restaurant of Miami Beach. Opened in Chicago in the fall of 2000, Joe's features an extensive selection of seafood, flown in fresh daily, to complement the world's finest Florida Stone Crab claws. Joe's has quickly built a reputation as one of Chicago's top steakhouses, featuring the signature 16 oz. Bone-In Filet Mignon and 22 oz. New York Strip Steak. Matched with Joe's famous side dishes, dinner only gets better when capped with a slice of key lime pie. Enjoy a generous cocktail in the bustling lounge or the tuxedo-clad service of the clubby dining room and you'll understand why dinner at Joe's has quickly become one of Chicago's favorite social engagements.
