    Rosebank African Crafts Market

    7 reviews

I never would have known about this place, located in a nondescript mall, if it weren't for the Gogobot reviews. Thanks! This has the best selection of African crafts and art work I have seen or heard about. You probably won't find antiques but there are plenty of gifts to take home. Be ready to haggle about the prices.

This place has so much history to it! It's an amazing place and well worth the visit. Don't be afraid of it's bad reputation. Use common sense and know where you are going and you should be fine. And PLEASE don't treat it like an "Human Zoo" like some people do. Be respectful and you will meet some of the ...

    Apartheid Museum

    4 reviews

The design of the Apartheid Museum and the way a visitor is self-guided from depictions and explantations of the sorry history of apartheid makes for a solemn but oddly satisfying experience.

Constitution Hill as three, somewhat intertwined, points of interest. It is the site of an historic fort, parts of which were later utilized as a prison. Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden

    1 review

Located in the suburbs of Johannesburg, this sprawling botanic garden is gorgeous, complete with a waterfall, beautiful lawns for lounging, walking trails and a native plant garden. With a bottle of wine and a picnic lunch, this is one of the loveliest places to spend a morning or afternoon while in Johannesburg.

    Wits Art Museum

    1 review

Remarkably eclectic, only a small portion of the museum's collection is on display. But what is displayed is visually appealing and intellectually stimulating. The museum operates on the premise that in addition to paintings and sculptures "art" also encompasses many artifacts with aesthetic appeal.
