This Aquarium located on Lake Michigan is something the whole family will enjoy..
Who doesnt like a dolphin show? Whales?
check it out along with the Field Museum and Planetarium located a few steps from each other!

Been coming here for years, and over that time they've added and improved exhibits. Great for kids and adults alike. Every exhibit is high quality, so plan enough time to do it all! Beware of long lines on the weekends.

This aquarium is probably, hands down, my favorite aquarium in America. Granted I have not been to any aquariums in New York which look pretty cool, but all of the ones in California have been a disappointment in comparison to the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
Simply put, I love the layout of this aquarium as well as the exhibit styles. The center Caribbean tank is especially notable and fun to walk around. I like that they divided the aquarium up by region and there is just so many neat fish and ocean / water living creatures to observe. The aquarium is quite big for what it is and for some reason its just better designed and more welcoming than the "famous" Monterey Bay aquarium ... which is now more of a kids play than an adults play.
From Christopher E.'s review, it seems like I'm missing out on a ton of awesome aquariums all over the country, but so far the popular spots I have to say I'm not impressed by anything else since I've been to the Shedd Aquarium. I will be back soon!

This is a stunning aquarium. You could almost be forgiven for thinking that Lake Michigan is actually an ocean with big windows placed here. A nice place to visit and a gorgeous event space.

The Shedd Aquarium is pretty big with numerous exhibits. I would highly recommend getting tickets for the Oceanarium, especially if you have kids. The dolphins put on quite a show, even though they are indoors.

I absolutely love this place. I've been to several fine aquariums, but this place might offer the most complete overall experience in that category. Worth the price of admission.
