A mountain of pastrami coupled with a potential celebrity sighting make Johnnie's Pastrami Restaurant an experience to be had. Counter sitting and chatting with other patrons harkens to the old days of social dining.

My parents had their first date at Johnnie's Pastrami in 1950 and I had my first date with my husband there also! There is not a better pastrami within 100 miles of Johnnie's. They had the same waitresses and cooks there for over 20 years. I now live in Colorado and when we visit LA, we bring home as many Johnnie's Pastramis as we can fit in our bags. The cooks and waitresses there now are sons and daughters of the originals. They say that 90% of their take-out business is for people flying out of LAX! You have to have one. When I had my first sandwich it was $1.45, they are now $12.00, but they are even bigger than before with at least 3/4 lb of pastrami. Their fries and onion rings are legendary too!!

Next door to the iconic Tito's Tacos is Johnnie's Pastrami's. Stop by anytime day or night, I think they close at 3am. What I love: the iconic Pastrami Sandwich, free pickle wedges that they serve as appetizers, the fire pit on the outside patio.
