Come for the view. No, really...come for the view...the view inside that is. But stay for the food.
We stumbled upon this pizzeria just looking for a quick bite to eat, and what a stumble. Located in an old church on West 44th, it's close enough to all of the action, but it's not a tourist trap, like many of the restaurants in the area.
Enjoy your pizza right out of the coal fired brick oven, sit back, and enjoy the view...from inside.Recommended for:

Not to ruin an iconic NYC movie with a spoiler, but an iconic moment in Woody Allen's "Manhattan" happens here. The pizzeria also features tons of pictures of celebrities who have visited the restaurant, which only sells their famous cheesy creations by the pie (no slices!).Recommended for:

John's is another one of New York City's best pizzeria's and it's right in the heart of Greenwich Village. This is usually my go to place whenever I'm in New York. I think the location makes it a great choice if it's your first New York pizza and you don't want to venture out too far.

Pizza, it's not a complicated dish, so why can't everyone make it like John's Pizzeria? Hot, bubbly, gooey, tomatoey, it balances all the right flavors and textures. It's the pizza I dream about. Now there are a number of good pizza places in the city that are head and shoulders above what you can get outside, but within the princes of pizza in NYC, John's is the KING.

Loud and busy...just like the city! Pizza was good. location is great! Get there early to get a table, or do a late lunch. The wall mural is nice. The menu seems pretty typical, and the service was good. Note - seems to be a touristy place, lots of groups of kids....but if I was in the area, I would go back.Recommended for:
