One of the best values in one of the most charming corners of an already charming city, Jonadda is a cheap, clean, simple guesthouse with a good restaurant and tons of resources to help plan your trip to Northern Thailand. Located on a small back road in the Old City of Chiang Mai, you'll recognize Jonadda from the big inflatable kangaroo looking down from the balcony of the 4th floor (the owners are a Thai-Australian couple). You can certainly find nicer accommodations, but if you're on a backpackers budget, look no further. As with all guest houses in the area, they'll want you to book your jungle treks and elephant rides through them, but do your own comparative shopping around town before deciding. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, but Nice Kitchen, just a few minute stroll from here, is one of my favorites in the city.Recommended for:Backpackers
