We lived at Jude Travel Park for about 4 months and had a pretty good time there. The owners are friendly and helpful, although they could take better care of or control their stray cat collection. The place is secure with a fence and gate, as the neighbourhood isn't the best but we never had any problems and walked to the corner store almost daily with no incident. The immediate neighbourhood has nothing to offer, not even a good place to eat but its just a quick drive to the city for whatever you need. It's the second closest campsite to the city, the closest being a disgustingly overpriced glorified parking lot right off the French Quarter. I would suggest this place for anyone planning to visit the city who is willing to make a couple minor sacrifices, like driving. Otherwise there is an excellent state park campground on the other side of the river.

Great little park. Kevin and Marla (owners) are more than helpful, the park is spotless and it is a short distance into New Orleans. The bus stop is just outside the gate but even better, they run a shuttle (on demand) for $5 per person. Would definitely stay here again. Strongly recommended.
