My boyfriend and I went here for mini vacation last January and we were pleasantly surprised with snow! The room was so comfy and the bed was beyond comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was phenomenal and the tea hour in the evening was a nice treat :) my boyfriend and I had a great time playing parlor games and drinking famous Julian apple cider while watching the snow fall.

I never would have thought to be out here in the back country, but I'm so glad I chose to stay in Julian at the Julian Gold Rush Hotel. I truly had a wonderful time, even though I was traveling by myself.
A few weeks before my stay, I booked a cheaper, internet rate at this hotel for under $100 per night. What a deal! The rate included breakfast and tea time. Each breakfast meal was made fresh, including a bowl of homemade queen oats and milk and a daily entree, which happened to be french toast during my stay. Both were delicious and something that made me feel just like at home.
Fortunately, the hotel was not booked and upon my arrival, I was able to go upstairs, scout the rooms, and pick one. They were so cute! I ended up choosing #9 The Wellington Room, named after the builder of Julian Hotel. This room was situated towards the back of the hallway and had a private bathroom. I also chose this room because I expected that the rooms closer to the stairwell with more foot traffic would be noisier. I noticed none of the rooms had televisions, but they did have complimentary WiFi!
I highly recommend this bed and breakfast hotel, but do come with other people. It would have been more fun as a couple or with family.
