Julius Ceasar Pub

This is actually a pretty chill, laid back bar. I'm only speaking of the bar area, not the B&B. They make really good kamikazee's, or any mixed drink rather. That's more their specialty than beer. It's darkly lit, and not too loud, but not quiet enough that you hear aeveryone else. There's no dancing, but there is light music playing. ...

Definitely plays second fiddle to other sights in Rome. Could easily be accused of being just a pile of rocks. Interesting enough but requires imagination. The Roma Pass is highly recommended if you don't want to wait in line.

The Piazza is an oval shaped courtyard designed by Michelangelo and one of the great architectural structures in Rome. It sits on top of the Capitoline Hill and is surrounded by Medieval and Renaissances palaces, one of which is now the Capitoline Museum. The statue of Marcus Aurelis sits in the Piazza, a rare surviving ancient statue. It's an exact ...

If you didn't know the history of the Circus Maximus it would look like a track that's been a bit neglected. If you're a runner it may be fun to do a few laps but for those of us who aren't it was interesting to pass by and think of what it used to be.

La calle por excelencia de las firmas de moda de alta costura, ideal si se quiere ir de compras, pero al no poseer ningún otro atractivo a destacar, puede resultar una pérdida de tiempo. Suele estar bien decorada durante las fiestas de Navidad.

It's an oft-repeated cliché that Rome is an open air museum and nowhere is it truer than when strolling down Via dei Fori Imperiali, the large avenue that runs from the Colosseum to the Piazza Venezia. On the north side of the street, you have the Forum of Trajan; on the south, the Forum of Augustus, the Basilica of Maxentius ...

This is a nice fountain in Rome, located in the urban square of the Piazza Navona. When we first visited Rome it was being refurbished and enclosed so we could not see it. Coming back to Rome and seeing the real deal was great.

This may sound like sacrilege but I would recommend that you spend your time here in preference to joining the massive queues at St Peters in the Vatican City. St Johns (San Giovanni) is the oldest and ranks first among the four major basilicas of Rome itself, as opposed to the Vatican, and is the cathedral of the Church of ...

Quote possibile one of the most romantic rivers I've ever seen. A track runs the length of the river, curving underneath Rome's numerous bridges. In the summer, stores and restaurants set up shop alongside the Tevere, creating a movie-like experience as couples dine and families play by the waterside. The way it shines, the way it lights up; there's really ...

As Rome's only Gothic cathedral, the feel of the interior of the Basilica di Santa Maria sopra Minerva is quite different from the other churches in Rome. I particularly loved the blue ceiling. Artistic must-sees include Michelangelo's Christ Bearing the Cross at the left side of the nave's end, as well as Bernini's Elefantino sculpture outside.

History buffs will drool over visiting Saint Clement's Basilica, a church on top of a church, on top of a church. Accidental excavations revealed a 4th century A.D. church underneath the medieval basilica, which just happens to be directly on top of a 1st century A.D. Mithraic chapel.

I was a little underwhelmed by this attraction. You line up for 20 minutes, stick your hand in the mouth and take a picture. There are a lot of other, more historically satisfying monuments in Rome to check out. If you happen to be walking by and there isn't a massive wait, then it might be worth it.

If you enjoy a crowded market where you can buy anything you can think of, then you shouldn't miss the Porta Portese Market. The Market runs every Sunday morning and many streets of Trastevere are closed to traffic from the day before in order to make room for this big Market. It can get really crowded, so I would suggest ...
