Julius Ceasar Pub

Via Castelfidardo, 49, Rome, Province of Rome, Italy

This is actually a pretty chill, laid back bar. I'm only speaking of the bar area, not the B&B. They make really good kamikazee's, or any mixed drink rather. That's more their specialty than beer. It's darkly lit, and not too loud, but not quiet enough that you hear aeveryone else. There's no dancing, but there is light music playing. ...

wonderful restaurant tucked away off the Via del Corso. Does amazing fettucini and steaks and sausages (served 'Roman style') of all sorts. Especially enjoyed the ox. Good bread as well and, of course, peroni beer.

Service was a bit dodgy and they were out of most food items by the evening, but fabulous location for amazing cocktails amid the sculptures. Pretty camp but fun! Have coffee or tea among the statues!

Really nice atmosphere and hard to argue with the social mission of the place. But the food is uneven. First course was excellent, pasta average, meat unremarkable, tiramisu excellent. But ymmv.

Amazing authentic working class Roman cuisine. You need to speak Italian to be happy there and if you wear a tie, they'll cut it off. But if you can hack that, it's a fabulous experience.

My friend found this place. Great, authentic Neapolitan cuisine. I really wanted something hot (sore throat) and had the best bean soup I've had anywhere!

Good roman restaurant in the Trastevere with rather strange name! Had a conference dinner there. More generally Italian than specifically Roman food (though the eggplant was excellent).

This was a great choice made by my friend who is a local. It is located near the Forum but tucked away so you would only find it if you already know it exists. The service is impeccable and the wine selection, while not huge,is excellent. The real reason to go here though is the food! The appetizers are unique and ...

One of many good restaurants in the Trastevere neighbourhood of Rome. The lamb was excellent as was the appetiser. Not terribly expensive and pleasant for al fresco dining. Not been inside.

Great cafe in the Trastevere. The emblem on the outside is what drew us in, but it's a great place to stop for lunch or an early dinner. Love the decor!

People love this place or hate it. I don't mind it at all, and it is one of the few restaurants that I have visited in the city that doesn't mind children dining. The food is pretty good, and I think that your children are bound to find something on the menu that is to their satisfaction. The staff are ...

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and it is not far from the Protestant Cemetary and Piramide! After exploring the Aventine or spending a quiet afternoon exploring the cemetery, there's nothing like a nice meal and a glass of wine to make the evening complete. There's always a healthy crowd of locals so you know that ...

I decided to dine at a touristy restaurant along Piazza Navona just so I could sit beside Piazza Navona like they do in the movies. Aside from the price, I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. The waiter, somewhat absentminded, messed up my order twice. He quickly fixed it and apologized. The food was tasty and the views are amazing. ...

Coffee was absolutely delicious but I felt like I had to skull it down because of the crowd, and not used to drinking my coffee at a standing bar! Guess that's a thing of custom though, if you like your coffee on the go and in a high-pace atmosphere then this is definitely for you! Also enjoyed a bar of ...

You really have to know about this place to find it. Tucked away behind Piazza Roma di Rè, it's a seemingly unassuming bar that just happens to serve the city's best tiramisu. Try the strawberry version for a special twist.

    Hostaria Costanza

Typical Roman cuisine, just off Campo de Fiori. It's located in the Pompeo Theatre, which is older than Christ. Very much enjoyed the local dishes, as well as wines. I would definitely recommend it if you want to taste the best food the Roman cuisine has to offer. Minus: it's in a basement, underneath huge arches. Don't expect windows now. ...
