Julius Ceasar Pub

Via Castelfidardo, 49, Rome, Province of Rome, Italy

This is actually a pretty chill, laid back bar. I'm only speaking of the bar area, not the B&B. They make really good kamikazee's, or any mixed drink rather. That's more their specialty than beer. It's darkly lit, and not too loud, but not quiet enough that you hear aeveryone else. There's no dancing, but there is light music playing. ...

    Giolitti - Centro Storico

1.32 mi from Julius Ceasar Pub

Despite being a tourist trap, this is truly some of the best gelato in Rome. Trust me... I tired almost all of them. I usually prefer the gelato that is served covered up, but the flavors here are incredible. Make sure you step up to the front and yell your order or you could be there all day.

Visit Angelnia in Testaccio - their pasta is fabulous. If you can sit upstairs and enjoy the view of the kitchen, definitely opt for that. Make reservations in advance. I would go back here many times over!

From the moment you get out of your cab at Piazza dé Ricci, you can see that this place oozes character. The chief concierge at the Hotel Hassler originally put me on to this place and I've been heading back on every subsequent visit to Rome. The restaurant has been serving excellent, fresh fish dishes and meat-dominated Roman classics since ...

Choose to buy incredible meats and cheeses from the deli section or head 'round the back to the tavola calda, where you can eat a cooked lunch for a reasonable price. The quality at Volpetti is second to none.

Tiramisu. Worth heading out of the city center for this. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because I didn't get to try other food and the people there were kind of jerks, but it's Rome and I didn't take it personally. The tiramisu is THE BEST!

Somewhere between a tavola calda, deli, and restaurant, Roscioli rocks some of the best cured meats, buffalo and other mozzarella this side of the Tiber. The lunch and wine list are both wonderful, and while the prices are not cheap, it's definitely worth a splurge.
