Right inside the picturesque Jupiter Inlet sits the Jupiter Lighthouse. Maybe it's because it was really the first Lighthouse I'd ever seen up close, but I was stricken by the scale and absurdity of the structure. It's difficult to imagine the use of a lighthouse today, when lights dot the entirety of almost every coast in the United States. It is pretty neat to imagine a time when it was necessary, though.
Have dinner across the inlet at Jetty's, sit on the patio, and enjoy the view. Otherwise, take a (short) hike down to the beach, play in the sand, and marvel at the lighthouse.

I happen to really like history and lighthouses and this site is chock full of both! Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum offers climbing tours of the landmark 1860 Jupiter Light and exhibits in the waterfront History Museum located in the restored WWII Naval housing quarters building. Outdoor exhibits include the Lighthouse Keeper's Workshop, Tindall Pioneer Homestead & Seminole Chickee huts. It’s a wonderful place to take in some local history and spend a lovely afternoon by the water.Recommended for:
