4 star hotel????? the smallest hotel room i have ever been in my life and that's include motel 6 and road inn's.
we got the room in an excellent deal for 45$ a night and the parking was 35$ a night(you can park outside in a closed parking lot for 10$ flat rate).
good: in the french quarter close to every thing and it is good hotel (other the room size). most of what New Orleans has to offer is in a walking distance.

The best way to describe JW Marriott, which is right smack in the middle of Canal Street, is “80s cheerful.” The murals are in bright colors, the ceilings soar, and the first thing that greeted me upon my arrival was the succulent smell of steak from Shula’s steakhouse on the ground floor. Yum. As I snaked my way through the lobby, I passed a hotel bar with lounge areas surrounding it, and the bright lobby was dotted with European travelers and business folk with their laptops. The room was bright, cheery and clean, with plenty of closet space near the bathroom. And the fitness center was one of the largest ones I’d seen in a hotel. Right on Canal Street, the street that divides the French Quarter from the business district (or as some say downtown from uptown), you're pretty much in the perfect location to do all those touristy things you want to do. And it's a couple blocks away from the streetcar.Recommended for:

Nothing wrong with the hotel, it's conveniently located, clean, comfortable etc. Perhaps my reviews are skewed by the overall experience in a place, and I didn't care much about the city so I don't care much about the JW.
You can get quite good deals during off season, which is basically the 51 weeks that don't contain Fat Tuesday..
