Grande Lakes - although not far -isn't right next to Disney or downtown Orlando, and that's actually in its favor. This hotel has built a fantastic getaway in its own right. I could spend all day floating along the swimming pool's lazy river or prowling by kayak through the adjacent Shingle Creek Nature Reserve (the hotel supplies the kayaks!). There's also an 18 hole golf course, volleyball, tennis, fire pits, the amazing Ritz-Carlton Spa and even a sustainably-minded restaurant - the Citron Brassiere - with it's own organic garden! This is a near perfect conference hotel, but also convenient to area attractions if you're just looking for a great spot to base yourself. One negative was I did notice the conference bathrooms were a bit unkept, but otherwise the entire hotel is immaculate and beautiful.
