This is the lowest priced hotel on the world famous Kaanapali Beach. The staff are wonderful the vibe is freindly and family oriented. The rooms are decent and clean but they are basic compared to nearby options. If you're on a budget and looking to stay on one of Maui's best beaches, then this is your best bet.

Very nice mid-range hotel right in the middle of the Ka'anapali strip. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The pool area is also pretty basic - no water slides, fancy landscaping or swim-up bars. But the location is very central - right on the beach, walking distance to Black Rock or the Ka'anapali restaurants. Luxury it is not, but if you are looking for a beachfront property without the big ticket price, this is a great bet.

The last family owned hotel on Kaanapali Beach. The bartender has worked there since 1960 something. It feels like the Hawaii of your childhood vision- koa wood and palm trees and kindly local people with real aloha who assist you with everything from the parking of your car to the room service, housekeeping, and front desk. Generations of people must work here. My favorite things about this place?
    1. The FREE hula show every night. Fridays it's practically a luau, except you can order food of your choice from the yummy Tiki Terrace. (Try the crab artichoke melt!)
    2. The Tiki Terrace Champagne Brunch on the weekends. I have never seen so much food in my life. Crab legs, shrimp cocktail, oysters rack of lamb, prime rib, an omelet station, all the usual breakfast stuff, pancit and curry and local food for days, a desert bar with bread pudding with a whiskey sauce...its RIDICULOUS! Did I mention free flowing champagne, live strolling musicians, hula dancers...seriously.
This is the place locals take their Mothers and Aunties for birthdays and special occasions. Its a great place to feel some real Hawaiian Aloha... This ain't the Mainland baby!

This hotel is where paradise meets pure enjoyment. We had cocktails by the pool, and took in the beautiful Maui sunsets from the beach. The hotel room itself was immaculate, and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for the honeymooners and families alike.

This throwback resort hotel on Maui's Kaanapali Beach usually has the lowest rates of any resort hotel in the main beach areas (apart from renting a condo). The staff have true aloha spirit, and the atmosphere is relaxed and family-oriented. Free hula and lei-making lessons, evening music and more.

This is our favorite hotel on Maui. The aloha spirit is everywhere, from the front desk to activities to restaurant/bar to maids and grounds crews/maintenance. This is not the fanciest place, but it is friendly, clean, comfortable, and right on the beach. Whaler's Village shopping center is next door and the hotel is not too far from Lahaina. It is great for families and those looking for a restful vacation. We highly recommend it!

The most Hawaiian hotel for sure, not the most luxurious hotel, but it is full of aloha and is on one of the best beaches on Maui. If you are looking to be treated like part of a family and not charged ridiculous prices for food and activities then this is the place for you.

If you want a real flavor of Maui, this is the hotel to stay at. they pride themselves at being the most Maui experience and they do an excellent job of doing it. I give them a 5 star.

Of course, we would rather you stayed at Honokeana Cove. But if you need to be on a long sandy beach surrounded by restaurants and shops, this is a great and generally affordable option on Kaanapali Beach, which is otherwise a pretty expensive place to stay. Check last minute specials, especially on studio units.

This hotel is a great deal for Kama'aina and for visitors it really prides itself on authenticity. Many if the rooms are in need of renovation but the staff here are so kind and welcoming. They'll go the extra mile to help you to enjoy your stay. The location right on Kaanapali beach is beautiful.

This place is amazing! They really have that Hawaiian small town feel here and it's very cozy. They may not be the newest or one of those fancy upscale hotels, but they have world class service. I've stayed at other more high end hotels but felt they lack the attention they paid to guests here. At Kaanapali Beach Hotel, they make you feel like a family, everyone is a cousin here! The staff makes you feel so welcomed. Your stay here includes an all you can eat breakfast buffet and every morning I'd take mine and my hubby's to-go so that we can sit on our balcony and eat while taking in the view. Pay the extra if you can to get an ocean front room, the view from your balcony is breathe taking! You're also walking distance to the beach! I truly felt relaxed and on vacation while I stayed here. That's what I love about Maui. A few days later I had left Maui for Oahu and stayed in one of those very touristy hotels, trust me, it was not the same! Too crowded and congested, no thank you.

This place is the best! Step back into the old Hawai'i at Ka'anapali's famous Beach Hotel! I love this place! The staff are amazing and there is always live Hawaiian music and hula in the evenings! And it's right on an amazing beach! Can't beat it!

Nostalgic view of Kaanapali 50 years ago. It Tiki Terrace restaurant and Tiki Bar and Grill near the swimming pool.

View from our hotel room at Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. It was perfect. A beautiful garden, pool and bar area for whatever you desire. The sunset at night is gorgeous. Highly Recommended. Short taxi ride into town as well.

Nice hotel with a great beach. The food at the hotel is very expensive $$$. I would suggest walking over to the shops and separate restaurants for a little pit better prices.

5 stars, BUT only if you can get the room that is nearest facing the beach - this is the most reasonably priced hotel on this beach and the view/balcony is amazing if you can score the room closest to the sand.

Also not too far from Lahaina, where there are a string of nice shops and restaurants/bars to chill at. Close to some nice surf beaches as well.

20 years ago might have been the time when this property offered a great stay, currently the experience is solid average. The location is fantastic, the beach is beautiful, and the evening entertainment (lights + music) by the pool was pleasant. The service was good, but the standard room was incredibly dated requiring serious upgrade. The cocktails by the pool are just average.

Been there five times. It is not as fancy as other hotels on the beach but is less expensive and more Hawaiian than the others and is in a great location. One of its best attributes is the broad lawns where you can put a lounge chair anywhere and be alone if you wish rather than crowded together like on a cruise ship which is the case with some of the other hotels.
