sand so soft it's unreal! not so crowded and beautiful beach on the west side of Maui. situated between Lahaina and Napili, it's a beautiful beach to stroll and play in. even the dogs are living da life in Maui :)

Less crowded than Lahaina, but with way more people that Kapalua further north, the beach at Kaanapali is beautiful. The water is rougher than you might expect, however. Come around sunset to see the free (if a bit hokey) torch-lighting and cliff-diving ceremony at Puu Kekaa (nicknamed Black Rock) at the north end of the beach near the Sheraton.

A bit crowded for my taste. I prefer South Maui beaches.

This is one of the best beachwalks on Maui. Follow the narrow boardwalk that leads south from Honoapiilani Park to Black Rock for a scenic and pleasant way to get your morning exercise and see a side of Ka'anapali you might otherwise miss. The pathway meanders, taking you roughly along the shoreline, past some of the area's finest resorts and restaurants, through lushly landscaped resort grounds, skirting a golf course and a few tourist shops, overlooking a long beach, into and around parking lots...it's a bit nuts. You'll end up traveling about 2 miles round trip. Bikes and skateboards are discouraged. The most you'll contend with are joggers warning you they're coming up on your left or right.

Take the Honoapiilani Park access road, directly across from the Times Market, in Ka'anapali. No charge to park and there's a restroom there. Walk toward the beach, near Duke's Beach House restaurant, and you'll end up on the boardwalk.

One of the best beaches in Maui, if not the world. Ka'anapali has something for everybody. There is luxury shopping, plenty of food and drink options, and a long spanse of beach, ideal for long walks, snorkeling, and other water activities.

A beautiful (if pricey) resort stretch just north of Lahaina. Popular with families. Great (if sometimes crowded) beaches including the fantastic Black Rock Cove, and some of the nicest easily-accessible snorkeling on Maui. For the adventurous, try a cliff dive off the rock face overlooking the cove.

Kaanapali Beach truly has something for everyone. It is an amazing stretch of golden sand kissed by the ocean with stunning views of Lanai, Molokai, and the West Maui mountains. Fine dining and high end shopping are available alongside more affordable shops and restaurants. Swimming, canoeing, standup paddle boarding, snorkeling, jet skis, parasailing and sailboat and catamaran cruises are nearby within easy walking distance. Truly something for anyone who enjoys an island lifestyle.

This is the beach that fronts the high-rise hotels beyond Lahaina--as you might expect, it's very well-groomed and orderly, with plenty of showers and bathrooms. A pleasant walkway winds along the beach if you're in the mood for a stroll.

Great sand and wonderful people watching! We spotted a bunch of whales here during the winter season, including a mother teaching her calf to breach.

Kaanapali has the busiest hotels on Maui so there are people everywhere, but it still has beauty and gorgeous sunsets. The walkway begins at the Hyatt and goes nearly to Black Rock. Be careful or you'll end up wearing someone's latte! Parasailing and jet skis at the south end or row a canoe.

Kaanapali Beach is lined with high-rise resorts - the Marriott, the Sheraton, etc are all here. Parts of the beach are nice and sandy, but some of the hotels on the south end have basically no beach at all - just a retaining wall that drops to the ocean. The Beach has great snorking in spots - especially at Black Rock (in front of the Sheraton), although it can get very crowded. The entrance to the water is also a bit steep, which can lead to strong undertow when the swell is big (watch the kids or anyone who is not a strong swimmer). The view is amazing, though, with the island of Lanikai off shore and a daily sunset on the water.

This beach is walking distance from the condo. You can drive as far as you would like, but you won't find a better place to relax, BBQ, and snorkel.

Beautiful and not overly crowded beach, mainly for guests staying at the major resorts in Kaanapali. Go cliff jumping at Black Rock and you may also be lucky enough to spot some big sea turtles hanging out around there.
