It was pouring when I was here, so most of my time was spent concentrating on getting our vehicle through, which was fun. I didn't get to enjoy the spectacular bird and primate life it is known for. I still enjoyed it. The forest was beautiful.

These 230 square kilometers comprise the only Kenyan remnants of the Guineo-Congolian forest ecosystem. While large mammals are rarely seen, this park is not to be underestimated for wildlife viewing potential. The endangered DeBrazza monkey, over 300 avian species, 400 different types of butterflies, and 27 species of snakes call this jungle home. Self guided hiking trails are found throughout the reserve. Camping facilities are available in the park as well as an eco-lodge. The large town of Kisumu is just 50 kilometers away.
