Go to mauifishpond.org for information on Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling leaving from Kalepolepl Beach Park next door to Menehune Shores. Includes talks from local Hawaiian kapuna about the cultural significance and use of the ocean fish pond at Menehune Shores.

This is one of my favorite beaches!
Never crowded, picnic tables, outdoor showers, BBQ areas, large grassy area, nice soft sand, plenty of parking, easy access, etc.
The waves are much calmer at this beach. I always see lots of turtles. Great spot to swim and snorkel. It is also the best spot in Maui to catch the sunset. I like to sit on the deck of the whale education center (blue building) during sunset. It's extra fabulous plus there are telescopes to view the whales. One other awesome feature is the ancient fish pond, this is a very sacred spot, indeed!!!!
