Nothing fancy, this B&B reminded me of some you'd find in Europe, so it's not surprising that there are a number of European guests. There's quite a mix of people. Some are here for conferences for 3 or 4 days. Others are World Bank types or professors staying for a semester.

There's a common room where guests can watch television together, as a well as a nice dining room for breakfast. Since it's near Connecticut Avenue and many eateries, it's easy to bring take-out food back at night.

There are cookies and candy waiting at the foot of the stairs. And sometimes, I'm told, free wine!

This B&B is convenient – to conferences at the big hotels nearby, to the zoo, to the metro. There are a lot of ethnic restaurants nearby, so there are plenty of food choices. And there are little shops on Connecticut Avenue, if you have to while away some time.

It's fun to walk back into the neighborhood with its colorful row houses. So, if you are out for a jog or a stroll, you have your choice of city streets, or quiet ones.

The bedroom was a good size. The furniture was a little worn, but there was a solid desk and a book collection. The bathroom was a funky shape, but was bright, and absolutely spotless.

I stayed in DC a few Januaries in a row... K Guest House was a gem of a find! Charming but simple, in a nice area, a short walk to lots of varied restaurants... And not a bad walk to Dupont Circle and Metro rail to the rest of DC.
