For a light hike with spectacular scenery, this is it. Just a 10 minute drive north of Honua Kai, you can do this hike in flip flops and its not very strenuous. Hike to the end of the lava rock point for a 270 degree view of the whales putting on a show during whale season. This is a personal favorite spot of mine.

This is a pretty coastline walking trail (some dirt, some paved) in the Kapalua resort area of Maui. For even better hikes with fewer people, take the free shuttle from the activity center up to the arboretum, then hike on the ridge trails to West Maui Mountains viewpoints or downhill all the way back to the beach (about 8 miles one-way).Recommended for:

Very cool. This trail runs along the sea cliffs and rocks from behind Kapalua Bay Beach all the way to DT Fleming Beach. It's a nesting area for sea birds and quite possibly the reason they haven't developed it. Along the way rocks, cliffs, wind and surf. Very enjoyable.
