Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa

    Hotel Class:
    5
    17 reviews

If you're headed to Kauai, consider staying in sunny Poipu at this stand-alone resort on the island's south shore. I'm not normally a fan of chain hotels, but I always recommend this resort to friends who are visiting Kauai and want a beach resort that's more laid-back than the hoity-toity Princeville scene. Open-air hallways, eco-green volunteering activities, Hawaiian cultural classes ...

Great resort with beautiful views, nice beach, pool, and fun waves. Stayed in ocean front room with balcony overlooking the beach and palm trees with huge waves rolling in... I could watch them all day long. We went to Big Save grocery to stock the refrigerator and grab snacks to save on the food/drink bill.

The hotel have an Asian-inspired decor, very zen and relaxing. The pool is one of the best parts of this hotel. It's fun, with so much waterfalls and hot tubs where you can only swim to.

This is a really nice public beach in front of the Marriott. Great sand for sunbathing. Good for snorkeling, swimming or SUP in the middle, with surf breaks at the right (waiohai) and left (left-lefts). We provide all snorkeling gear including masks, snorkels, fins, beach towels.

    Koa Kea Hotel & Resort

Poipu has its beachfront resort hotels and condos, but if you want hip modern style, this romantic boutique hotel may seduce you into paying top-dollar room rates. More intimate than the big chains, this sweet escape has apartment-style suites ringed around a small tropical pool. Valet parking only (no self-parking).

The location of this hotel is good. It is almost equal distance to either side of the island. You can reach north shore or west side in an hour or less. Kapaa is a short drive away and it is an excellent place to get food and any supply you might need. It is also one of the closest hotel ...

    Marriott's Kaua'i Beach Club

This is a nice property, but it is in an odd location, if you ask me. It is in Lihue, which is town, but there isn't as much to do in town that is beach related. Personally, I would prefer to stay in one of Marriott's other properties on Poipu Beach. Lihue is fine if you have a car and ...

    Hanalei Colony Resort

    Hanalei Colony Resort

    Hotel Class:

Old-school Hawaii by the sea. Out past Hanalei town, on the way to Na Pali Coast State Park, this low-slung condo-style hotel hasn't changed much since the 1980s. No phones, TVs or in-room internet are all part of the "just chill" mantra of this place, where you can get a massage right by the beach. If you get discount rates, ...

    Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation

    Hotel Class:
    4.5

The Kiahuna is a magical place, one that I have been lucky enough to have visited many times over the past 35 years. Although the island has changed quite a bit over that time, the Kiahuna remains an incredible place for a family vacation. The beach is two steps away, and when you tire of the sand, the extensive lawn ...

I liked the location. Not far from the airport. It's clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's smaller than most of the Hotels we've stayed at but I liked it. The pool isn't heated which would be nice in the summer. We went in February so it was a little chilly, but the jacuzzi was hot. The only ...

    Poipu Shores Resort

Great place to stay in Poipu. We stayed here on a family vacation and had a great time. It's a condo rental place, so each unit has different furnishings. We stayed at the penthouse, which is on the top floor and has amazing views of the beach, crashing surf, and the sunset. Another great thing about Poipu Shores is that ...

    Wyndham Ka `Eo Kai

No AC and muggy rainy conditions are a bad combination. Also when the roosters start "singing" at 5am it feels like they are right next to you when your windows are open. The chicken poop smell that comes in through the windows is one of those unforgettable experiences. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. It would have been great ...
