    – a two mile undeveloped beach with easy walking and a boardwalk with exhibits. Good swimming but as with any sandy beach here, be alert for coral heads. http://www.fws.gov/refuge/kealia_pond/

With a brand-new boardwalk alongside the highway, this petite national wildlife refuge is a haven for both native endangered water birds and migratory species like the Pacific golden plover. Come in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun is less intense and you have a better chance of spotting not only birds, but also sea turtles nesting in the sand.

There are a number of birds that live in these wetlands. There's a lot more water in winter. Morning is best because of high winds.

Beautiful views right off of Sugar Beach. No walking in front of big Hotels obstructing the incredible views.
