This was a wonderful museum. The guides were very friendly and helpful. The museum doesn't have air conditioning so on a hot day it wasn't very crowded. I loved the "Victoria Revealed" tour. Very informative. An actress played Queen Caroline during our visit and she was wonderful.

A royal residence, that is still used by royals today. Visit the wonderful English garden in front, and check out the state rooms which are open to the public. Try a traditional afternoon tea like a true royal at the Orangery.

Kensington Palace is contained within Kensington Gardens, and is an impressive architectural building in its own right.

I always chuckle when I come here when thinking of the story of Princess Margaret, who lived here for a while, but disliked her relatives Prince & Princess Michael of Kent. The Kents used to turn in for bed early, so the minxy Margaret used to crank up her jazz records and lower a speaker outside the Michaels bedroom window. Like Brian Fitzharris posted earlier, my lasting memory though will be taking a walk around the perimeter of the palace the day after Diana, Princess of Wales died. A carpet of flowers. Very moving and a fitting tribute to an amazing person.

Kensington Palace provides for a very nice and relaxing environment for a residence (for the Royals) within the beautiful Kensington Gardens.

I still remember this place piled high with bouquets when Princess Di passed. The palace is being rennovated at the moment, but you can visit and see some of her dresses and things.

Description

What was built for the Earl of Nottingham in the 17th century became home to Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981. Earlier in history, Queen Victoria was born here. Today it is the part-time residence of William and Kate. You can discover some wonderful exhibits in this palace that has been home to so many strong and influential women. Updates completed in March 2012 enhance the experience for those not lucky enough to live on these beautiful grounds with new exhibits that include some of Diana’s dresses, refurbished gardens, and “Victoria Revealed”; in which you hear the queen’s stories in her own words. In addition, new shops and cafés have been included.
