    Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

    Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

    Class:
    5
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 92% of guests recommend

One of Kenya's most ridiculously overpriced and elite spots. Complete with a maze of hedges, a helicopter to fly up to Mount Kenya, and decorations of prizes for great white hunters of the past. The food is decent, but not worth what is costs.

This is easily one of the most spectacular places one can stay. Food is superb and the service is exceptional. Each of the lodges is ...

    Campi ya Kanzi

    Class:

One of the greenest hotels in the world, Campi ya Kanzi is situated in real African wilderness and works hard to stay in sync with the beautiful habitat. The leaders strive to educate their community on greener practices, and utilize many clever innovations to reduce their impact. For example, the food is cooked solely with charcoal that is made from ...

    Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

    Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

    Class:
    4
    2 reviews

A very nice National park. I stayed one night there and we did to safaris inside the park, one in the evening , the other one in the morning. Made a lot of great pictures http://www.flickr.com/search/?ss=2&w=37007874%40N00&q=amboseli&m=text - even if we didn't see any cats. The lodging was completely decent. The only issue is the road to go there , it's ...

    Governor's Camp

    Governor's Camp

    Class:
    4.5
    2 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

I took the hot air balloon ride out of Governor's Camp and it was nothing short of spectacular. The fact that the great migration was happening at the time certainly contributed to that. After soaring over the northern section of the Serengeti Plains, you touch down for a champagne brunch and a game drive back to camp. Pretty memorable.

    Nairobi Serena Hotel

    Nairobi Serena Hotel

    Class:
    4
    2 reviews
Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

The Serena hotel is a lovely oasis in a busy city. You won't get anything close to an authentic African experience here, but if you need a good night's sleep before heading out on safari then it's a good option. When I stayed there I was disappointed by the beds - I was hoping for a soft mattress after a ...

    InterContinental Nairobi

    InterContinental Nairobi

    Class:

    3 reviews
Good! - 78% of guests recommend

The hotel is way overpriced, but then again, so are all the big chain hotels in the CBD area. It does have a nice patio and pool out back but other than that the place feels a bit dilapidated. It is a popular place for large conferences though.

    The Sarova Stanley

The rooms are quite nice, but the location in the middle of town means that walking outside after dark is not the best idea, and your view from the window of your room is just Nairobi traffic. The food at the restaurants is good, but criminally over priced, and the place does seem a little stuffy and colonial. Overall, overpriced ...
