    Abyssinia Exotic Ethiopian Restaurant

    Upper Parklands Estate, Nairobi, Kenya
    4.5
    2 reviews

The food is delicious, the meat tender, the njera fresh, and the service friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are pretty standard, and we suggest you get one of the suggested platters, which cost around 850 KSh pp. The coffee was perfectly made and presented. The staff truly are delightful.

    Carnivore

Langata Road, Near Wilson Airport, PO Box 56685, City Square 00200, Nairobi, Kenyan Regions, Kenya
    4.5
    16 reviews

Thia place falls easily into the overrated category. Its fame is derived from a time long ago when they served game meat, and now is a place where tour buses arrive, and showmanship has eclipsed the quality of the food. The service is friendly, and the meat is decent, but it just feels too much like a theme park now. ...

    Ali Barbours Cave Restaurant

    Ukunda, Kenya
    5
    4 reviews

This is my vote for the one thing you must do if you go to Diani, but make reservations at least the night before because the venue is small and the word is already out on this place. It is set underground in a cave made of limestone and petrified corals. It is illuminated with a candle lite glow, and ...

    Trattoria

Wabera Street and Kaunda Street, Nairobi, Kenya

Amazing freshly cooked pasta, on maybe the most extensive Italian menu in town. Conveniently located right in downtown Nairobi. They also serve seafood, and have a large wine list. Not cheap though. They take online reservations.

    Osteria del Chianti Restaurant

    P. O. Box 4289 Lenana Rd, Nairobi, Kenya
    4
    2 reviews

Is a chain restaurant in Nairobi, offering fresh pasta, gourmet pizza, an extensive wine list, delicious fish specials and tasteful outdoor seating. The service however is of variable quality, and to me the the quality of the food is not inline with the high prices on the menu.

    Fogo Gaucho

    Viking House, Waiyaki Way, Westlands

    1 review

What a great place for a feast. Definitely bring your appetite, and plan to hangout for a while, as the service is Brazilian style, where waiters bring around different cuts of BBQ-ed meat of your choosing. The meat is high quality, the seasonings are delicious, and they are expertly grilled. The quality here is much better than the more famous ...

    Talisman

    320 Ngong Road, Karen, Kenya

    2 reviews

Often billed as the best restaurant in the area, eating here is just a great experience. The food is gourmet and innovative, the services is great, and the you can either sit inside with stained glass lighting, outside woven between the trees, or next to a open fire. If you can make it out to Karen, make sure you plan ...

    Tatu

The Fairmount Norfolk, Harry Thuku Rd, Central Business District
    4
    1 review

Located at the Fairmount Hotel, the prices here make it a place that cannot be visited too often. However, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. In a city where everything is expensive, and sometimes good, this place leaves you feeling like you paid for a high quality meal. The fish and steak are both recommended.

Wow, duck two ways, Asian fusion, tasty burgers, decent microbrew and a nice outdoor lounge. This place should make your list even though it is located in a weird mall.

    Pete's Coffee iHub

1st Floor, Bishop Magua Centre George Padmore Lane, Nairobi, Kenya

Super cool little start-up on the first floor of the iHub building. Great coffee, and they do burritos and other foreign fare for lunch. Super friendly staff, and a great outside balcony to enjoying their creations under the sun. Definitely a spot to go hang out with the creative up-and-coming from the tech world too.

    Slims Restaurant

Corner of Ralph Bunche road and Lenana road, Milimani
    4.5
    2 reviews

Go for some drinks after work. Friendly bar service, and plenty of comfortable places to relax. The spicy chicken wings are excellent (could use some bigger portions though). The dinner menu is fairly standard, everything seems decent.

    Brew Bistro and Lounge

Piedmont Plaza, 671 Ngong road, Nairobi, Kenya
    4
    1 review

Well, they do brew their own beer, and it is a step-up from Tusker, but it is not much of a draw in the end. What is a draw, is the atmosphere, and the gigantic platter sized steaks they serve in their restaurant. A cool balcony, bar, and indoor seating. However it is super packed on the weekends, so if ...

    360 Degrees Artisan Pizza

    ABC Plaza

    1 review

Recently opened at the end of 2013, it is an attempt to bring high quality pizza to Nairobi. Many have tried, but non have stood out until 360 launched. Offering some creative and delicious flavors, like spicy lamb sausage, chimichurri beef, and pesto with rocket. They also have some great juices, coffee, sierra beer on tap and some homemade pastas. ...

    Zapata Mexican Restaurant

    Chiromo Lane, Nairobi, Kenya
    4
    2 reviews

Far from authentically Mexican, it is also much closer than one usually gets on the African continent. While the food is not quite up to par to satisfy a fixing for Mexican, the drinks certainly are, and they might have the most extensive tequila collection in town. Good place for some sun downers with friends.

    Java House Upper Hill

    P. O. Box 21533 Ralph Bunche Road, Nairobi, Kenya

    1 review

This coffee house standard bearer is known for its high – quality coffee. And it certainly lived up to its reputation during my visit. The service was immediate, even though I called in the mid-morning downtime. The bonus to my Java House experience was that my cappuccino was paired with a chocolate croissant the size of a small loaf of ...

    Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee House

    Karen Road, Nairobi, Kenya
    5
    1 review

The menu is now a fusion of the popular Tamarind and Tamambo dishes giving Karen residents a chance to sample the delicious Tamarind signature seafood. Diners have a fine choice of different areas for lunch or dinner. There is the cosy and redecorated indoor restaurant with adjacent outdoor terrace and garden, also being remodeled, for a la carte dining.

    Onami Grill & Sushi Bar

Westgate Mall, 4th Floor, Peponi Road, Nairobi, Kenya
    5
    1 review

No sushi bar can hold a candle to Onami's ambience – it's unbeatable. Their Kuruma Ebi – salted jumbo prawns – is fantastic. And if you feel like something from their grill menu, the Losumaki, an entrecote served with green beans, is very good.

    Le Rustique Restaurant

    General Mathenge Drive, Nairobi, Kenya
    5
    1 review

Outdoor garden seating, friendly service and great food. The service is a bit slow, but given the ambiance, that is not really an issue. The portions are huge, the salads are crisp, and it is definitely the place to go if you are craving a crepe.

    The Phoenician

    Karuna road, Westlands
    5
    1 review

They are known for their Lebanese cuisine, but their seafood gets our vote. Why? Because their spicy prawn tempura is the best, they have excellent service and you can wash down your food with real Japanese sake. Of course, it will cost you, but what the hell, you only live once.
