    Lamu Old Town

    4.5
    2 reviews

This is the major activity in Lamu. Just to stroll through the streets, getting lost, stopping in shops and dodging the donkey carts, and occasional rain. It is certainly present, although many alleys reek of piss, and cat poop, and the further inland you go the more deserted and spooky they get. However, the people in general are very nice ...

    Pirates Beach Club

    3.5
    3 reviews

The bar is literally on the beach so it is hard to go too wrong with this choice. However, its vibe really depends on the night of the week, season of the year, and there fore the amount and type of characters that show-up. It can be a very laid back beach bar, or a crowded techno seen where its ...

    Crater Lake Game Sanctuary

The game sanctuary adjacent to Crater Lake is small but does have giraffes, zebras and buffaloes. It is worth a little drive through if you are over at the lake anyways.

Very cool to see these guys running around. there is a place where you can sit across the river from them and watch them hang out and interact with each other. Mesmerizing. There is another little spot where you can interact with them but they are behind an electric fence. Definitely a cool experience if you are around the way. ...

    Diani Beach

    3.5
    2 reviews

The scenery is stunning here. Long white sand beaches, fringed with aqua blue water. There are also some very nice high-end all-inclusive style resorts here. However, as far as I could tell there was not too much more in Diani, and over half of the beach front properties are huge deserted ghost hotels which is just a bit eire. The ...

    K1 Klub House

    3.5
    2 reviews

It is a very cool spot, with a large outside area, and live music emanating throughout the crowd. Tuesday night there is live jazz. Packed on the weekend, and the food is decent. However, the service takes forever, so you have to be quite proactive.

It is located on the gently sloping shores of Lake Victoria and the town with animals such as Impalas. Leopard, hyena, lion, cheetah and jackal. This place has great history that makes you feel nostalgic in a way. Early mornings are a special time, as the memorable ringing cry and the chorus of birds' song continues through-out the day. Elsamere resident troop of black and white Columbus monkeys visit the centre regularly. I loved the view of the troop from the lakeside lawn.

Famous Mara River Great Migration River Crossing Site

    1 review

This is quite an exciting place during the Great Migration (July/August), when herds of zebra and wildebeest gather int eh plains on either side of the river, and push and shove each other into the crocodile infested water, and catalyze a mass crossing. This specific crossing on the Mara river is where a lot of the famous National Geographic and ...

    Shela Beach

Rightfully referred to as one of the most epic beaches in Kenya. It is a rugged beauty that stretches untouched for over ten kilometers down Lamu Island's exposed Eastern Shore. It looks like a beach where pirates crossing the Indian ocean would have camped, as the dunes behind it keep it untamed. We were warned of past robberies on the ...
