It was an extremely hot day when we were in Key West for just the day on a cruise ship stop. When we walked into the Butterfly Conservatory all frustrations and cares melted away. The atrium was a welcome and inviting sanctuary with tropical plants, flower and every butterfly you can imagine. We found ourselves oohing and ahhing over every butterfly we saw. They hang from trees, fly past you, are on the ground. The best one I saw was one that was brown and had a eye like pattern when closed but a brilliant, electric blue when open. This is a must see stop for anyone in Key West.
