The Key West Cemetery might not be a place that you would think "Before we do anything else we must go there". but its well worth a look.
It was built in 1847 just after the terrible hurricane that blew into town and caused such terrible loss of life, so in a way it is celebrating life and especially life and the history of the Florida Keys.
Focusing around two key elements “Water” and “Humans” that kind of describe the Keys, you can go on a tour that leaves every Thursday morning at around 9:00, where someone will take you around and tell you fascinating stuff about the residents who unfortunately have been laid to rest there.
If you pop into the Chamber of Commerce you can get a map that allows you to do a self guided tour
Its a good place to go and free, which is always good when in Key West
