    Wailea Beach

    50 reviews

If not for the crowds of families from nearby resort hotels, this would be me favorite beach in West Maui, especially for the outrageous sunset views. There's limited public beach-access parking in specially marked lots of the main road. Show up early on weekends if you want a spot!

    Makena Landing Beach Park

    17 reviews

Makena Landing is a rocky beach with almost no sand, or at least not enough to relax on. The rocks make the water cloudy, which makes snorkeling or diving a waste of time. Head down Makena road to much better beaches very close by.

I went on my first dive after getting certified with Maui Dive Shop and absolutely loved the experience. They can be a little more expensive than other dive shops but they really know their dive locations inside and out and my instructor was great.
