    Big Buddha Beach

Don't like the fact that the public is pretty much blocked from accessing the beach. Only guests of the hotels and beach-front restaurants get to enjoy the beach. Horrible land management policy.

An impressive huge golden buddha, and a view of the surrounding area. Worth a look.

    Fisherman's Village Walking Street

This was an interesting look at a market area for the tourists and locals. We walked through markets loaded with fresh fish, poultry, vegetables and fruits. The place was very busy and a little funky since the food was just out on counters and the chickens were live until you bought them.

Green Mango is a huge, outdoor club in the heart of Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui's largest nightlife district. It has huge open-air dance floors, a great selection of the latest music, and plenty of space to dance, hang out, or meet new people - you'll find someone from every corner of the world at Green Mango. Namaung Waterfall

    3 reviews

The hike up Namaung Waterfall is a lovely one, though at times, it is a bit challenging. It takes less than two hours to get to the top, so it's a great excursion for a morning or afternoon break from the beach. The view from the upper-most level is beautiful and worth the climb (and 40 baht admission).

    Koh Samui Butterfly Garden

Found on the south-eastern part of the island, the Butterfly Garden and Insect museum is a wonderful activity for those wanting to experience Koh Samui's more natural elements. I came here one afternoon with my family and there seemed to be hundreds of butterflies flying around the enclosed park. It gets a little muggy, but of course it is the ...

    Grandfather and Grandmother Rock

Basically, these are interesting rock formations that looks like female and male genitals. Locals have seen a potential for tourists and made this place one of the "must-see" places. To me, its worth visiting but nothing too much interesting.

Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts

SITCA's cooking classes are incredibly hands-on and allow all students to participate actively in the creation of an entire Thai meal. Though fast-paced, the class is organized well and run by a master chef and her assistants with grace and efficiency. There are two 3-hour classes each day, Monday-Saturday (closed Sundays) in their spacious kitchen designed specially for cooking courses. ...

Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Club Lounge

The Blue Ribbon Club Lounge was a quiet, nicely air-conditioned lounge, away from the chatter of the common areas in the airport. There was complimentary Wi-Fi, drinks (including alcohol), hot dim sum items, and sweets. My favorite was the sticky rice, which was similar to the one served at the Bangkok Airways lounge in Suvarnabhumi Airport. The best part: air ...
