We stayed at Koro Sun for a week with our kids, age 13 & 16. (second part of our 2-week Fijian holiday trip.)
It's a small boutique resort with very pretty grounds and very nice rooms. We originally wanted one of their over-water units but ended up booking a "Streamside" unit since they had 3 bedrooms and were closer to the main building. (Over-water units are right at the on-site dive operation, so would be great for people who are diving a lot and don't need more than 2 BR.)
The staff are all very nice, the grounds great, the units are very pretty. There are some quirks to the units, we did have some issues with plumbing and electrical but they were fixed quickly (well, quickly in Fijian time!).
It's a quiet resort... there's little nightlife here nor in the town of Savusavu (10 minute drive), so don't come here looking for clubs and dancing. That said, there's a nice house band that plays Fijian music in the lobby most nights, and a nice bar in the main building. The band let my son, a good guitarist, sit in for several nights so he could learn some Fijian songs, which he loved.
There's a nice private beach (but note that it is across the street from the resort... but it's quite close to the main building, you can walk there in 3 minutes.
Some rooms have private pools, there are two pools at the main building (though one was closed when we visited). Pools are small but nicely maintained.
This is a notch below the nearby ultra-luxury Namale resort by all accounts, but it's quite nice. Be prepared for a few minor hiccups and frustrations, at least until you adapt to Fijian laid-back lifestyle, but they all work hard to make sure everyone's happy.
Be sure to take the excursion to the nearby waterfall and village, it was a real highlight for us.
Koro Sun Diving is the on-site dive center, and Janine and Colin are fantastic. We did about 12 dives and loved it, and our kids both finished their certifications with Colin. The diving is spectacular in the area around the resort.Recommended for:Family Travelers

Luxury resort in the middle of nowhere. Nowhere to walk but the beach, nothing to do but swim in the pool, and super friendly staff. An alternative to the Namale if you want to stay in the area but not spend that much money.
