There are three things you'll notice when you walk into Kuma's for the first time. 1) The loud heavy metal music. 2) The pierced, tattooed crowd. 3) The long wait. Do not be deterred. The burgers: huge, juicy, covered in unique and flavorful toppings. They're heavy metal themed, with names like Megadeath and Slayer, and finishing one will make you feel like a badass. If you're with a small party (2 or 3), keep your eye on the bar. This will cut your wait time in half.

Loud music, beer and insane burgers. I always chatted up the hostess, who was really nice and lent me a lighter. Know the busy nights of the week - otherwise wait shoulder to shoulder with other hungry people.

Does your ipod contain more heavy metal than a locomotive? Located in Logan Square, this joint specializes in burgers named after bands such as Metallica, Pantera, and Black Sabbath. The food is as big on taste as it is on sound, so don't expect no wimpy piece of meat. Burgers are 10oz, served on a pretzel roll, and will run you $10-$13. Unique toppings include jalapeno poppers, sweet chili, and pineapple. Worth visiting for the experience, even if your playlist doesn't include Iron Maiden.
