Kuwait has almost no reason to exist. Without the oil industry, no one would live here because it's hot and dirty. If you had to go there, I'm sorry.

Find Hotels in Kuwait:

Description

Kuwait glows at night as bright as any metropolitan city. The discovery of vast oil fields (its biggest, Burgan Field, holds an estimated 70 billion barrels alone) transformed this once-poor pearl farming community into the 11th richest country per capita in the world. Kuwait City is its capital and largest city, with the prominent Kuwait Towers at its heart. Mosques and museums share the space with amusement parks and a slew of malls. Grand hotels and international restaurants sit along the waterfront. A devout Muslim country, alcohol is forbidden in Kuwait, so Western visitors ought to adjust their vernacular. Here, “nightlife” signifies shisha and some time at a restaurant, or perhaps catching the sunset at the Marina Crescent (don’t worry, there is a mall here too). “Cocktail” translates to a sweet concoction of fruit juice and ice cream. Shops and hookah bars open late, providing the perfect setting for socializing with friends.
