One of the biggest McD's I've ever seen and the only one I know of on the shores of the Persian Gulf. Own 24 hours a day and very popular with the motorcycle set.

    Sayed Hussein al-kasbi Coffee Shop

    1 review

Sitting at this old coffee shop was a highlight of my visit to Kuwait -- and to the souq. Established in 1945, this little spot is a covered alleyway between two shops just a few aisles away from the central area. You'll definitely need to ask around to find it but it stands out once you've seen it. Kuwaiti men ...

    Al shamam (مطعم الشمم)

    1 review

Delicious, friendly and incredibly reasonable. The meal I had here was the best that I had in Kuwait -- a fresh arabic salad paired with a perfectly cooked fish in a masala-like sauce. The specialty here is fish. If you ask for "spicy fish," you should be able to get what I had. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the people ...

    Choco Cafe

Super yummy cafe inside the Hotel Missoni. Very stylish and a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth or practice your Italian. Popular with locals too.

The service is quirky but this place is stylish and has amazing views of the corniche. Breakfast here is comprehensive. The felafel wasn't particularly good but all-in-all a good experience with plenty of local influence despite the Italian design.

    Al Boom

    1 review

Competent grilled seafood and meat in a very Disney-esque atmosphere. I was drawn to the romance of a dhow but this is a Radisson Blu restaurant and is far from authentic or local. Can't believe LP lists this as their top choice. I'd much rather eat in the atmosphere of the old souk. Fine if you aren't adventurous and would ...

    Nawara Al-Alse Restaurant

Mediocre at best but cheap with big portions. The decor may make it seem a little better than other spots in this area but there is no reason to eat here.
