I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Kyoto Grand! Gorgeous views from the room. There is a lot to do in the area such as exploring Little Tokyo and even at the hotel itself. The lobby is pristine and has a gorgeous lit-up bar. Also a nice garden outside, very zen, but of course! The staff was fantastic and helpful ...

Just like any other cultured space, this is a place where you have to visit and eat ramen at, its like in any big city, you have a subculture of people living in it and you won't know what's going on inside unless you explore it daily for a year. So many things that happens in this place that I ...

Completed in 1928, City Hall's architect used a classical temple as inspiration for a base that supports a 28-story tower that has become a symbol of the city. The interior public spaces are Byzantine in ornamentation. A cynic might suggest that Los Angeles's administrative structure and often, its politics, are equally Byzantine.

Bar hop around the Historic Core neighborhood, grab a bowl of ramen in Little Tokyo, taste test classic French dips at rivals Philippe's and Cole's, eat dim sum or late night Chinese food in Chinatown, see a Los Angeles Philharmonic concert, or catch a Lakers or Clippers game at the Staples Center. Most of all, I love city lights and ...

THE LOWDOWN==- Possibly the most popular hidden spot in Little Tokyo. Friday bar hopping night, but ended up getting food after being hypnotized by other people's orders. The average sized bar area was not able to handle all the patrons. It was crowded beyond belief in that small room, about 3 deep. Funny though is that I don't remember it ...

Pros: 1. Lots of Hello Kitty items 2. Specialty items from Japan 3. Cute shops Cons: 1. Everything is SUPER expensive 2. Everything is over price - you can find the same thing outside this mall, it's just says made in USA not Japan that's all 3. A stunning venue for large events in downtown L.A. This beautifully styled Baroque space perfectly accommodates large wedding and/or corporate receptions. The main room accommodates up to 800 people. That said, the group must be large enough to create a pleasantly warm and festive atmosphere.

Really interesting location. If you don't have a handy dandy GPS, you might have a hard time finding it. Most memorable art piece is the bloody red sanction room. Joon Lee runs this hidden gym in Little Tokyo. In the shopping mall, upstairs --- it attracts some of the best jazz musicians in the world. Fantastic music, great drinks-- soak in the music while you read the beautiful words of Rumi splattered across the wall. A little slice of culture in LA.

The Los Angeles Zoo has gotten better over the years. It used to be considered the poor cousin the San Diego Zoo. They have expanded and modernized the exhibits. The new gorilla exhibit is first rate as well as the badly needed elephant additions. Lots of hills for walking. Also the parking is free.

Soooo much fun and 10x better once they moved to Las Vegas. I've been to Ultra Music Festival in Miami and this beats it by at least 2x! The line-up, the people, and the sheer massive scale is something to brag home about (or at least, to Gogobot about!) :)
