I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Kyoto Grand! Gorgeous views from the room. There is a lot to do in the area such as exploring Little Tokyo and even at the hotel itself. The lobby is pristine and has a gorgeous lit-up bar. Also a nice garden outside, very zen, but of course! The staff was fantastic and helpful ...

Ok I have been hanging out in Little Tokyo a lot. However Everyone calls it Japan Town or just J-Town. Regardless, This is a gentrified area that is popping most of the time. I end up over here for a lot of fun, some great nightlife, and some great dining options. Literally it’s a very fun area to cruise around ...

Oh this place definitely has to be revisited! 5 of us turned up here on a Friday after having ramen in a place a little further down the street. At first we took a seat inside the restaurant/bar until my friend remembered the outside seating. Outside is the place to be! Tables and chairs line a converted alley. Xmas lights ...

Vibiana is a hidden gem in downtown Los Angeles. This Baroque-inspired cathedral is majestic! There is an outdoor space you can utilize that is perfect for receptions or a summer soiree. There are changing rooms in a building separate from the main building, which is great for wedding parties. The only downside of Vibiana is the acoustics.

Concentrating primarily on Japanese immigration to the United States and the World War II concentration camps, the exhibits provide a moving account of the impact of prejudice on individual people. The museum broadens its scope by also offering stories of how African Americans, Koreans, Chinese and Latinos overcame prejudice.

Best place to get mochi/manju in the city, if not the whole state (or country). This Little Tokyo institution has been passed down from generation to generation since 1903 and is still family owned and run! You're not gonna find a more fresh mochi/manju anywhere else.

LA's iconic city hall is a must-visit attraction while you're in downtown. The building, featured in many Hollywood movies, offers breathtaking views of the city from its top-level observation deck. It's completely free to visit, but make sure to bring your ID (or passport) with you, because it's required at the security checkpoint.

The Los Angeles Zoo has gotten better over the years. It used to be considered the poor cousin the San Diego Zoo. They have expanded and modernized the exhibits. The new gorilla exhibit is first rate as well as the badly needed elephant additions. Lots of hills for walking. Also the parking is free.

It's all of those rolled into one with some vintage pieces, things you can find at your nearest Urban Outfitters and some unique items from Japan. Completed in 1928, City Hall's architect used a classical temple as inspiration for a base that supports a 28-story tower that has become a symbol of the city. The interior public spaces are Byzantine in ornamentation. A cynic might suggest that Los Angeles's administrative structure and often, its politics, are equally Byzantine.
