What more can you say? A quintessential part of Havana that cannot be missed… the music, people, and of course, the mojitos which are masterfully created. Don’t forger to write your name somewhere on the walls before you leave. The food is decent, but this is a place you go for the atmosphere.

Yes it is touristic but it is so friendly that you find yourself there every evening before dinner... You can sing with the band if you like, you can even play with them, you can dance in your own style, you will definitely make friends with people from the other edges of the world or band members... You drink Hemingway's mojito, and smoke freshly rolled cigars... What else? :)

A super small bar with a band packed into it. There are buses of tourists coming in and out of here all day everyday. Hemingway's writing is still on the wall, "my mojitos at La Bodeguita, and my daiquiris at El Floriditia. Everything is a bit expensive but the mojitos are actually really good.

Have a look at Ernest Hemingway's famous bar then go across the road to the Cuban place and have exactly the same mojitos at the place with the wooden grille, or anywhere for that matter - Ernest Hemingway wouldn't have been caught dead sitting in a bar in Havana full of tourists. The only Cubans in there are waiters. the food is incredibly expensive. While the drinks weren't that much (about $4.50 each) I know I can find them elsewhere for $1. No atmosphere, I was the only female besides a married couple. Everyone else was a foreign business man or a sex tourist.
It's much nicer at a local bar.

La Bodeguita Del Medio is the spot where Ernest Hemingway went for mojitos when he was in Cuba. It's a small bar in a cute alley close to the Catedral and it is most definitely a must for any tourist visiting La Habana. Live bands often play there and the ambiance is festive. Great memories!
