The best part of La Jolla are the beaches (La Jolla Shores) and the cove. If you go to the cove, be prepared for some very strong odors coming from the sea and all the bird poop. But bring your camera, it is beautiful.
Get there early though because it gets crowded and the parking will be taken.

Complain all you want about La Jolla's hoity-toity atmosphere, but you can't beat the scenery of its coves and beaches along San Diego County's Pacific coast. If you want a kitschy, but fun adventure for kids, go to the Cave Store and pay to walk down the slimy steps into Sunny Jim Cave, possibly the only natural sea cave in California that's accessible directly from land without having to kayak or put on a scuba diving suit.

This is a really beautiful resort town, a San Diego suburb for those that appreciate the 'Finer things in life." The town has it all! Trendy Restaurants, Hipster Bars, Fabulous hotels and interesting beaches. The small coves that offer up private beaches are some of the best in California!

If you want to have a picture perfect date; with amazing views of the ocean, perfect flowers along the sidewalk, and freshly cut grass (always) then you have come to the right spot. La Jolla gives tourists and locals an appreciation for a beautifully manicured village. You can't go wrong with the shops and restaurants located on Prospect but expect to pay for it. Grabbing a sandwich from The Sandwhich shop and setting up on the lawn or the beach is a great way to appreciate the beauty that is La Jolla.

La Jolla is absolutely gorgeous - high-end shopping, upscale residences, pristine beaches, and a thriving nightlife. Home to UCSD and a heavy population of college students, as well as a prominent marine research base, with aquariums, facilities, and vessels dedicated to the knowledge and education of marine life.Recommended for

I was born in La Jolla (only because it is the closest hospital to Del Mar). But, there really is no better place on the planet to be born. La Jolla, believed to come from Spanish for "the Jewel", is exactly that. You have not really seen SoCal and especially San Diego until you've visited La Jolla.
