Un 'monton' of nightlife, tapas bars (esp. around Cava Alta and Cava Baja) and shopping in one of the oldest areas of Madrid. Be sure to go on Sunday for El Rastro, a giant flea market with everything under the Madrileno sun you could imagine.

La Latina is really cool on Sundays. In the morning you should check out El Rastro market. Later on the day it will be too busy.
At the end of the day/night this area is perfect for eating tapas, have beers and 'bottelon'. Cava Baja and the streets surrouding.

Description

It is rare that you can easily identify and find the origins of a city, but La Latina in Madrid offers just that opportunity. Located in the epicenter of town, this neighborhood is the oldest and most infamous of all the city. Known for it's fantastic concentration of tapas bars, La Latina is also home to several churches including the Iglesia de San Francisco el Grande and the Iglesia de San Andres. On Sundays and holidays, the neighborhood is the place to find the Rastro flea-market among other shopping there. Come see why La Latina is a place to find history, culture, and a little bit of everything else.
