La Mesa Grande is barely just down the street and around the corner. A great place for morning coffee, lunch or a snack. They have a bakery and pizza oven for your pleasure. Thursday night is pizza night with live music. This is only one of so many great restaurants near our apartment.

Excellent croissants, delicious coffee, and welcoming open space. I have fantasized all year about returning for a croissant and people watching.

Mesa Grande is about 3 blocks form the house. They have breakfast and lunch and a great big table to sit down and relax at. It's a great place to meet friends or to just hang out at. We love the comfortable welcoming atmosphere.

Fabulous baked goods (try the sticky buns), hearty sandwiches (the smoked trout is a favourite) and the pizzas are really good. Plus free wifi, an eclectic selection of magazines to page through and a casual, urban vibe make this a regular stop on our weekday outings.

8 to 7 weekdays, 9 to 7 Saturday, closed Sunday. This small indoor (and hipster-ish) café is well-loved for its delicious baked goods. They have a simple breakfast menu centered around their breads, but also including Mexican breakfast staples like huevos rancheros & chilaquiles. Many people go just for the coffee and think of it as the hip alternative to Starbucks.
