Laduree is known for its macarons. They're really the ones who put macarons on the foodie obsession map. The Burlington Arcade location is good for a quick stop before jewelry shopping or hitting the Royal Academy, and is a much better bet than the Costas, Prets and Neros along Piccadilly for a takeaway coffee.Recommended for:

My lovely host for the day and I ended our tour de London in Covent Garden.
We passed by this adorable bakery/restaurant and had to come back for tea after our walk. I am a regular drinker of tea these days and love to have it at night with a pastry.
The macaroons at Laduree are fantastic. SOOO delicious. We tried Chocolate, Raspberry, Coconut, Coffee, Lemon and Pistachio.
It was so cute, we each took little bites from all of them. We had to try them all! I was so lucky to have the Coffee one for breakfast the next day and Lemon I was able to smuggle it on the plane with me to NYC.
Service was really good and they allowed me to take a place mat with me as a souvenir. I can't wait to use it at my next tea party! Too bad I won't have their macaroons!

Quaint little shop on the edge of the (somewhat overrated)Burlington Arcade. The macaroons - surely that trend must have run its course now?! -are nice and the space diminutive to match their size. Does have a smattering of tables, but there are more comfortable places to relax in central London.
