West Linn is Clackamas and right next to Lake Oswego, I pass through (and stop for breakfast) every time I go to my Son's school. West Linn has a history of early development, prompted by the opportunity to harvest energy from nearby Willamette Falls. It was named after U.S. Senator Lewis F. Linn of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, who had advocated ...

    Portland

Great, fun, eclectic, outdoor centric, easy to get around. Inspite of the bad rap for weather, Portland offers many interesting things to do no matter the weather. Highly recommend visiting. For those timid types, start with the Summer months.

Really nice town to grown up in. The streets and area are quite clean. Great place to get an education. Might not be the best place to do touristy type of things, but a great place to live.

Mount Hood is considered the Oregon volcano most likely to erupt, although based on its history, an explosive eruption is unlikely. Still, the odds of an eruption in the next 30 years are estimated at between 3 and 7 percent, so ...

Oregon City is a nice little city outside of Portland. Mainly known for the end of the Oregon Trail (which there's a museum here to celebrate that). It's in good proximity to Portland so lots to do, can come here for a 1/2 day.

    Aloha

Aloha is probably one of the more "worn down" suburbs west of Portland. It's not as ideal as Beaverton, or rural as Hillsboro. Just in-between. You'll find yourself going to Portland a lot if you live here.
