If you have met us, you probably know that as soon as we mention our beloved Lamai Thai Massage parlor, our jaw goes slack and we start slurring our words. We love this place like a child -- a child that gives cheap massages!! We are a very regular patron/addict of this establishment due to the following reasons: their hour-long massages cost just $40, while half-hour massages are just $25; they are open daily from 7am to 10pm; the masseuses are incredibly sweet; they take appointments, but you can generally just walk in without one; and they give you a delightful cup of tea when the massage is over. There is nothing fancy-pants about it, but you get all of the benefits from a Lamai massage that you do from a Burke Williams massage, sans the cucumber-lemon-infused spring water and organic dried fruit bowls. (In case you don't obsessively read wellness blogs online like we do, you should know that in addition to the obvious benefits like stress reduction, there is growing evidence that massage can reduce blood pressure, prevent injuries like strained muscles, and boost your immune system -- all very good things.)
And to top things off, there is an early bird special! If you show up any time before noon (seven days a week), they charge just $35 for a one hour. If we lived next door, we would make this a daily habit.
