According to the interweb, this place was voted one of the top 10 coffee places in the country by Bon Appetit. The interweb also told me that it served civet coffee. So off I went with the boyfriend to give it a whirl. No civet coffee to be had. But the selections of coffees and coffee preparations (siphon, chemex etc.) was impressive. We had Guatemalan clover coffee and it got us over the disappointment of finding out they didn't actually have civet. We also had their strawberry basil lemonade, which was a tad sweet but very yummy. LAMILL rounds out the menu with a lot of teas and wines, plus a spot of food. Small parking lot in the back, and plenty of street parking too if you have the constitution/skills to pull off parallel parking on the tight, super busy one-lane-each-way thoroughfare that is Silver Lake Blvd. Free wifi, but you have to ask the waitstaff for a code that is good for one user for 2 hrs.

This is the ultimate LA coffee shop. Everything is pretty much over the top in comparison to everywhere else. You can get coffee prepared in pretty much any method imaginable, along with typical espresso based drinks, as well as special selections, such as an orange infused cappuccino. There is even a paragraph long description of the water they use. In case you're wondering, it's filtered and then minerals are added back.
There are clover machines, which prepare coffee by the cup in an automated fashion. This is the most typical option and there are a number of different choices for the beans.
That little contraption in the picture is called an eva solo. The server described it as a cross between a french press and a clover. That was accurate. There was body to it but it was also really flavorful. What I liked about it, beyond the taste, was that it stays hot for quite a while in that carafe.
Beyond coffee, there is a full menu of food options served all throughout the day.
I could go on about all of the different options, but I'll end it all by saying that if you want the ultimate coffee experience in LA, this is where you go.

I got the seasonal Candy Cane Hot Chocolate. Drinks here are not too sweet and prepared just right temperature-wise. It was a perfectly made hot chocolate. You can tell the attention and quality put into making that cup.

BEST ORANGE PEEL INFUSED CAPPUCCINO!! (Expensive though, $6 for a little cup)
This little cup of cappuccino is just amazing!
I Love the neighborhood of Silver Lake! I love how Lamill Coffee is right in the middle of these residential homes. :-)
This is the place I crave to come. I love the ambiance and the decor! I don't care what kind of stuck up hipster hangs out here, All I know is when I'm here, I want to enjoy my pricey drinks, get my good service and just sit back and relax.. yeah, RELAX!
I've tried the Hong Kong milk tea. $6 for a cup of milk tea infused with a bit maybe lavender tastes I say. I think it's not much differ then a regular Hong Kong Milk tea you can order at a Asian Cafe or restaurant for about $2.00 (See what I meant by overpriced)
I've tried their green tea mojito. Tasted odd at first, but the flavors stick to you. Again, still not worth the whooping $6.
My friend indulge in a cup of red wine. They didn't fill it up very much. And yes, $15 for it was too pricey for me.
So why do you say, I'm giving it a 5 star if so far I only liked one of the drinks here I've tried. .. I'll tell you that cup of cappuccino is worth 4 stars alone and throw in the fifth star for the ambiance and decor! :-)
A plus, they have a parking lot in the back!! And a cute accessories shop next door.Recommended for:

It's a really great place to go if you're serious about your coffee or just testing the waters. Indulge in a $25 cup of Japanese brewed coffee and top it off with the insane beignets. Stay as long as you like and take advantage of the wifi. If you're lucky, maybe you'll spot some celebrities.

Classy & chic are two words that perfectly describe LAMILL.
Come here for the coffee and stay for the food. They are great at balancing classic and creativity. Their jelly donut coffee is WOW as well as their chai and simple chocolate chip cookies.

LA Mill.... yes, YES it is indeed one of the best coffee in LA.
We were driving on our way to another spot but spotted this and decided to give it a try. ZOMG!
After finally sitting in the snake skin chair after an ungawdly wait of 2 minutes I finally had the chance to take it all in. The simple red, black, and blue color scheme along with the faux tree mural on the wall all behind the glass wall giving the illusion that the place is much bigger than it is. Throw in the decor one would expect of a color coordinated coffee appliances and LA chic clientelle and staff and you got a winner. I want to live here forever.... FOR-EVER!!!
Get this.. they serve coffee here. Really good coffee. So good that they give you choices as to how to prepare them... several forms of drip, the 'moonshine' kit, the 'purist' kit, and then some. I dont remember the real names of the techniques but trust me, if you wanted to check it out before purchasing the art deco coffee pieces.. here's your chance. What goes well with coffee you wonder? Well, breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert! They serve these killer donut hole things! *drool* I can testify that it is only great when served with the exotic sounding vanilla accented whipped cream concoction. You think that's it? Guess again.. one last piece to round out the offerings here...
Not to be outdone by the coffee selection...
THEY SERVE ALCOHOL!!! A limited yet fine selection in itself at that.
