From the moment you are greeted by the doorman, you know that this is an upscale hotel. The Lanson Place has recently undergone a complete renovation and the designers didn’t miss a beat. The spacious rooms are designed with elegance and modern wooden furnishings. The grand piano and reading lobby create a living room feel. It’s a perfect place to kick back and relax after a day of shopping in Causeway Bay Plaza. The hotel pulls out all the stops to make it worth every penny, from the service to the amenities. Guests can borrow from a large collection of DVDs at no charge and the launderette provides that extra convenience. The Lanson Place is for those that want a home-away-from-home stay. For the long term business travellers, this is a perfect hotel to come home after a day of meetings.

Stumbling into the Lanson Place feels like discovering a well-kept secret. The building doesn't really look like a hotel and it's easy to pass by without ever noticing. However, once inside, everything about the hotel says luxury. The concierge team is waiting on the ground floor to assist and answer any questions. The lobby, on the first floor, has dozens of couches and a grand piano, all of which make it a great place to wait or have a meeting. The staff are super efficient and speak great English. Since the hotel is boutique and doesn't market itself to tour groups, the common areas of the hotel are all very quiet and relaxing. The rooms were spacious and each one has a small kitchenette. The location is excellent, as it's located in a quieter part of Causeway Bay, near Victoria Park. The only downside to the hotel is that it doesn't offer free WiFi to its guests. The hotel has a business center, but still, WiFi would have been nice.

We stayed here while attending a friend's wedding in Hong Kong back in 2006.
Very modern decor. Pretty convenient location. Right outside of it is the hustle and bustle that is Hong Kong, with the tiny alley ways they call streets. But, the hotel itself is a nice escape. Very high end but not very expensive. Breakfast included (which I think is something all US hotels should look into).Recommended for:Luxury Travelers
