We stayed here when it first opened. The rooms were really nice, they are private cabins overlooking the river. Really nice swiming pool and good food at the restaurant. There are free bikes that you can ride around the whole island. Really nice get away.

    Chanthapanya Hotel

I've stayed at the Chanthapanya while travelling on business a number of times and have always enjoyed myself. You will find that most of the guests at the Chanthapanya are either business travellers or mid- to high-range travellers looking for a comfortable but reasonable room. The Chanthapanya's decor has an unending displaying of locally carved wood and other crafts that ...

One thing stands out about this hotel is the service. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was excellent and the food was delicious (kudos to the Chef). Try the spa after you explore the town, you would feel rejuvenated! It provides shuttle services to old town (altetnatively, you can also rent a bike free of charge).

I was in Southeast Asia for a month this summer, and Villa Nagara in Luang Prabang was my favorite hotel/guesthouse of the trip. Location is fantastic- this place is a small historic building (completely remodeled) sitting on the Nam Khan river. It's just around the corner from the main street in Luang Prabang and a five minute walk to the ...

With spotless, tiled rooms and excellent bathrooms in a good location in a heritage house just off of LPB's main drag, Kinnaly is an outstanding budget guesthouse. Staff are friendly and helpful (god bless Lao people), and at the $7 charged for a roomy double, it's a wonder they're not losing money.

I stayed there last month and I loved it. It's located in the quiet part of the world heritage peninsula of Luang Prabang. The rooms have everything you need, plus free WIFI, which is for me a real big plus. The rainforest shower was fantastic after traveling to the north of Laos with all the dusty roads. The prices are ...

Good standard rooms for around $30/night. A little wear, but still clean and roomy. Most rooms have two doors, allowing a nice breeze through during the day, and wonderful views once you step outside. The Queen rooms on the fourth floor are worth the $100/night only if you want a really amazing view from your personal veranda, and an unattached ...

It's a former royal residence transformed to a boutique hotel. The hotel has a spa for those interested. However, the most important advantage of the place is that it is very close to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Luang Prabang, the royal capital of Laos for six centuries and famous of some 30+ temples.

Just across the Nam Khan river from where we stayed at Villa Nagara, Dyen Sabai is an atmospheric restaurant and bar with some really good Lao food. Depending on the season, you can cross the river by bamboo bridge or small boat. The restaurant is really laid-back and loungy, with decks amongst the trees, and low tables with cushions to ...

We got an independent unit at the hotel costing US$ 15 per night and free coffee. Although very far from the main city, this hotel has good food, security and 4-5 karaoke vip rooms. The rooms were very clean and the hotel staff very friendly. The hotel name is Meelavadee.
