    Joma Bakery & Cafe

    4
    4 reviews

If you're looking for some western comfort in the middle of the craziness that is Laos, JoMa cafe is where you need to go. Modeled after the Japanese, Taiwanese, Singaporean bakeries, you'll find sweets and pastries that will momentarily transport you back to the West while out in the East. Don't stay too long as a momentary respite is only ...

    Tamarind

Fantastic inventive menu with great staff and service (which is rare in Asia). They offered great taster dishes and even explained their stories and how they are eaten in Laos. Highly recommended! They also offer cooking classes which look very promising (1 of only 3 cooking schools in Luang Prabang).

    L'elephant Restaurant

    4
    2 reviews

An absolutely gorgeous restaurant, with great food to boot. The atmosphere is very colonial Southeast Asia, with lots of dark wood, fans on the ceiling, and a gorgeous balcony for outdoor seating. There are two menus- French and Lao. I did the Lao prix-fixe, whiile my cousin did the French, and while she enjoyed hers, we both thought that the ...

    Sticky Fingers Cafe and Bar

    4
    2 reviews

Sticky Fingers is a surprisingly tasty spot for a random assortment of western food - from fried chicken to burritos. The space is well lit, clean, and has good quality service. You'll often find a mix of Vientiane expats and travellers enjoying a relaxed evening. Often, you'll find them sipping Sticky Fingers decent margaritas. Overall, a reasonably expensive place to ...

    YuLaLa

    4
    2 reviews

There are a number of Japanese restaurants in Vientiane that serve sushi and other typical Japanese dishes. YuLaLa is not necessarily cut from the same clothe but serves some of the tastiest, freshest, and most delicious Japanese inspired food in the city. YuLaLa is tiny with only about 10-12 seats. All of them are either situated close to the floor ...

    Makphet

    3.5
    3 reviews

Makphet is a restaurant run by Friends International in Laos to provide opportunities for marginalized children and families to develop skills and earn a living. The food and service at Makphet is decent, although it wasn't the best food we had in Laos. And it isn't the cheapest restaurant in Vientiane. You can get tastier and cheaper versions of most ...

    Via Via Restaurant

    3.5
    2 reviews

Via Via Resaurant is an Italian restaurant close to the Mekong on Rue Nokeokoummane. It has a wood-fired oven in the back that is mostly used to sell pizzas. The pizzas are generally of good quality but not great; they could use some tips on improving their dough. On busy evenings Via Via is often lively with travelers eating pizza ...

    Morning Glory Cafe

    5
    1 review

With a friendly staff, decent coffee, and outstanding breakfasts Morning Glory Cafe was one of my go-to morning spots during my relentlessly pleasant stay in Luang Prabang. The shady garden is a great place for relaxing, and while the wifi may not always be working, the vegetarian curries happen to be excellent. Try a breakfast sandwich on a crunchy baguette ...

The food here is awesome! The guy who runs it, Daniel, was cool to talk to. Don't come here if you're in a hurry, but it's worth waiting for the Philly cheese sandwich. The Cobb salad is amazing, too. Quesadilla was good as well.

    Na Dao

    1 review

This restaurant is currently a jewel in the rough. Heavily influenced by French cuisine, the owner and chef, Mr. Sayawouth, brings in the freshest ingredients that he finds daily and creates amazing specials. The decor is very modern, in one of the newer buildings near the Japanese bridge (no address given on the business card). If I'm not mistaken, it's ...

I didn't have dinner unfortunately at this romantic riverside cafe - only had coffee but my few minutes there was sufficient for me to admire the river view. Totally charming!

    La Cave des Chateaux

    1 review

A really good french restaurant in Vientiane. I had a "steak au poivre" and it was like in France. It's expensive if you compare with prices in Laos, but for the quality of the food and thinking how much would be in other cities, it's cheap. We had a really good wine too. I didn't love the dessert though. Well ...

    Blue Lagoon Restaurant

    4
    1 review

One of the better 'fine-dining' options in Luang Prabang, service at Blue Lagoon is attentive and polished, the atmosphere is excellent, and the food reliably good across the Lao-Thai-Continental menu. A red prawn curry here is an outstanding option, as are the Luang Prabang specialties. It rates as expensive only by comparison to other restaurants in a fabulously inexpensive town.

This casual restaurant serves a blend of flavorful Lasi and local cuisines. Most dishes are freshly prepared and delicious; the grilled fish is probably the best in town.

Lao Kitchen serves authentic Lao food. We tried the fresh spring rolls, stir-fried morning glory and the duck laab xong keuang. Everything was fresh, perfectly spiced, and delicious. Best meal I have had in Vientiane so far.
