One of Seattle's best restaurants, part of the original small-plate movement.

It is a great prohibition themed speak easy. The downstairs section is the library, but the real gem is the upstairs section. You have to call from the phone to check if there is space upstairs, which is kind of a pain. However, it is worth it. It is very cozy upstairs with great custom-crafted cocktails.Popular withFoodiesLocalTrendsters

Calling all burger fans! Quinn's serves up one epic burger. One that will you remember for a lifetime and dream about forever. Yes, there is more to Quinn's than just burgers. For one there is a full bar staffed by expert mixologist who whip up some of the most creative cocktails on the West Coast. The beer selection is out ...Popular withFoodiesLocalTrendsters

The boldly striped exterior of the Unicorn is only the a hint of the visual delights that await inside. From the unusual animal heads mounted on the walls to the gorgeous, brightly painted bar, the Unicorn is almost overwhelmingly visually stimulating. But it's not just all looks. The wait staff is friendly and fun (unusual for a hipster bar) and ...Popular withTrendstersNightlifeLGBT

Pies of all stripes, from fruit to cream to meat, plus tea and coffee. High 5 is quiet with a spare and modern interior. It's a little out of the way if you're cruising the bars of Pike / Pine by foot but that's also what makes it a great place to chill out and escape the crowd. Very close ...Popular withBudgetFoodiesVegetarian

A relatively new addition to Capitol Hill neighborhood restaurants. I like the decor of the place with blue ceramic tiles that resemble Mexican tiles. The best part of the restaurant is the semi-outdoor seating area in the back. When the weather is nice, you can sit there and enjoy a cool drink and some snacks. I had the special roasted ...Popular withLocalFoodiesNightlife

Picked up some Bluebird Microcreamery vanilla bean ice cream at the shop downstairs and it was a delicious after dinner treat. In hindsight, I wish that I had thought to grab something chocolatey to eat with it. Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.

I was looking to take my friend Joa K. out to dinner for her hospitality during my visit to Seattle and I found this lovely little Japanese restaurant in Capitol Hill. Apparently, she had never been so we made reservations on Open Table. First of all, the restaurant is deceivingly larger than it appears. There's a back room, plus a ...Popular withFoodiesSpiritualTrendsters

New Rustic Northwestern food with an updated edge on comfort food. Oddfellow's has a lot of long communal tables (and even the small tables are so close together that they feel communal) so come ready to get cozy. Consistently solid for all three meals. I recommend the roast chicken. The red brick and industrial feel of the interior is quintessential ...Popular withFoodiesVegetarianTrendsters

Chop Suey is a smaller music venue on the Eastern edge of the Pike / Pine corridor. I'm usually there for electronic music (Caribou, F*** Buttons) but they have plenty of rock and locals acts too. Their stage is a kind of picture-window, which can obscure your view sometimes, but nonetheless I've always had a great time.Popular withTrendstersLocalNightlife

Where else but Seattle can you find a coffee shop that is also an independent record label who releases all their albums on vinyl?

New discovery for me. Used to be a coffee house but recently added a kitchen and dining area.

Dishes on the menu seem simple, and might strike a modernist diner as anti-innovative, but La Spiga is all about well-bought ingredients and sheer expert quality. Order anything. Just anything. If I had to find a fault it would be that the desserts, although strong, aren't at the stratospheric level of the pastas and appetizers.Popular withFoodiesNightlifeLuxury
