I've traveled to Seattle numerous times over the last several years. But it's always been for business and was never exposed to just how good this town can. And oh boy is it GOOD! This was our first stop for the long weekend. Arriving just after noon, we were greeted by our host who sat us at a nice table ...

    Tavern Law

    0.14 mi from Lark Restaurant
    4.5
    7 reviews

There aren't many cocktail bars where you can say something along the lines of "I like gin and fruit but not oranges" and trust that you'll always like the result. Tavern Law is a real craftsman's drinkery with a decent happy-hour selection. You can try to get into the private bar upstairs by using the antiquated installed telephone, but if ...

Two words - Bacon jam. I heard about this place when they were featured on the Food Network. My friend had just moved back to Seattle so I asked her to check it out. She sent me a jar of bacon jam. It's wonderful stuff. You put it on burgers, steaks, crackers, basically whatever you want. When I visited recently, ...

    Unicorn

The boldly striped exterior of the Unicorn is only the a hint of the visual delights that await inside. From the unusual animal heads mounted on the walls to the gorgeous, brightly painted bar, the Unicorn is almost overwhelmingly visually stimulating. But it's not just all looks. The wait staff is friendly and fun (unusual for a hipster bar) and ...

    Pike Street Fish Fry

    0.23 mi from Lark Restaurant

Late-night crowds line up at the counter of this tiny Capitol Hill neighborhood eatery for some of Seattle’s best fish and chips; after all, the fries alone are worthy of the wait. They’re hand-sliced, fried to perfection, and served in paper cups with dipping sauce (the tangy chili mayo is a perennial favorite). And while it’s hard to beat a ...

The ice cream is good, but the atmosphere is what makes this place stand out. There's a weird little clothing store / computer repair shop (?) upstairs.

Good beer, and your typical Northwest brewery/restaurant. The bar area is small, so not your best option if you're coming with a large group and you don't want a table.

The Capitol Hill spot is very popular due to its location. I am not a big fan of the food. I think it is barely adequate. I go there when I just want something simple and quick. When I crave a good bowl of noodles, that is not the place I go.

    Oddfellows Cafe

New Rustic Northwestern food with an updated edge on comfort food. Oddfellow's has a lot of long communal tables (and even the small tables are so close together that they feel communal) so come ready to get cozy. Consistently solid for all three meals. I recommend the roast chicken. The red brick and industrial feel of the interior is quintessential ...

    Osteria La Spiga

Dishes on the menu seem simple, and might strike a modernist diner as anti-innovative, but La Spiga is all about well-bought ingredients and sheer expert quality. Order anything. Just anything. If I had to find a fault it would be that the desserts, although strong, aren't at the stratospheric level of the pastas and appetizers.
