Laurel Tavern is a very popular place to grab a drink. It gets packed everyday, even on the weekdays. It's right next to some other busy restaurants and there's very limited amount of parking spaces around. Luckily, they have valet parking.
You find your own seat when you walk in and go up to the bar to order anything. There's a line to order food or drinks most of the time. You can also start a food and drinks tab so you don't have to pay multiple times.
They have several beers on tap but I really wasn't impressed with the selection. I tried 3 different beers and they weren't very tasty. My friend had an IPA and she wasn't that crazy about it either.
The food are pretty good. I had the mussels and the sauce it was cooked in tastes amazing. I was tempted to eat up all the bread by soaking it in the liquid. My friend very much enjoyed her house special burger.
We didn't try the duck fat fries but a lot of people ordered it. It's more like a potato wedge than fries because it's a huge piece of potatoes. I may be back to try it next time.
