Le Bistrot du Peintre

This is my favorite restaurant in Paris. This is a classic Bistrot. The food and service are very good. It's not fussy, just simple genuine, and reasonably priced. The duck confit is fantastic. See all of the locals here and you'll realize it's the real deal.

Paris is a cutting-edge modern city—vibrant, youthful and teeming with life. On the path to discovering this side of Paris, I started at the HI-Matic hotel, located in the heart of the famously hip Bastille district. A smartly designed, staunchly green hotel, the HI-Matic playfully takes on the idea of the retro auto-mat, with a lobby and café outfitted with ...

The hotel has a good location, right near Bastille area, plenty of bars and restaurants for the nightlife lovers. It is walking distance from Marais, which is a great shopping area. The layout of the room is a bit odd for my taste. There is a water closet with the toilet. The bathroom is semi-open. You pass by a bathtub ...

Colorful, well-priced, young- feeling, fun, and in a great location, the hotel Beaumarchais is really the perfect place for young travelers. The rooms are quite small but visually fun and colorful, the people at the reception are very accommodating and cool, and the neighborhood is one of the most up-and-coming and trendy in Paris (Oberkampf).

The location is probably the strongest part of this hotel-right next to the St.-Paul metro station. There is no lift in the hotel but only a very steep staircase, so be prepared for some cardio exercises.

The Pratic Hotel is a small discreet hotel located in the 4th Arrondisement (Le Marais). It's a three star hotel and it's great in term of location and is within close walking distance to the metro station. However, there are some drawbacks. For example, there are no modern amenities (no elevators, only staircase so don't bring anything too big luggage-wise!), ...

Have stayed here a couple of times while in Paris. It is easy walking distance to Bastille, Louvre, Notre Dame, Pompidou Center, department stores. We stayed at topmost floor - rooms are very small and tiny, if you have a big bag you will not be able to move around. The view from the window was nice. There are quite ...

Cool neighborhood. Not so good hotel. 2 cot-like beds to a room. Super thin walls and signs telling you not to use the water at night because of the noise. The day staff was nice, but at night the hotel was run by a psychotic old woman who ran around the hotel screaming at guests. It was cheap though, and ...

My family stayed at the Hotel Picard in June of 2009. The arrondissement in which it is located is a fun area; Les Marais has an active night life and there are plenty of great little restaurants lining the sidewalks in true Parisian style. It's only a hop, skip and a jump from the Temple Metro station, so transportation was ...

Close to several metro stations but is still a 15 minute walk. I'm not too crazy about the location but i always felt safe. I was able to get a large room [by paris standards] since there were 3 of us. Our bathroom was large enough to do cartwheels in it.
